This handsome little man is Kahizie. He came in to see me just before Christmas and he had the sweetest temperament. So calm and relaxed, and made posing him so very easy. His parents brought in some important personal items related to their First Nations heritage to make their session even more special and I just loved incorporating them into the sets I had created based on their chosen colour palette.
Kahizie’s parents wanted to incorporate both creams and whites, grey and blue. We also added in some red to match their beautiful First Nations blanket and fan and that helped bring in the beading colours from their beautiful handmade baby moccasins. I always encourage clients to bring in a personal item that may tie into their family history or heritage such as a baby rattle, papoose or heirloom quilt. This was a great way for Kahizie’s parents to incorporate some of their First Nations items that hold a strong place in their heart. They also brought in the beautiful handmade quilt you’ll see below and as soon as I saw it I knew what I had to do with it! I can visualize that quilt picture as a huge canvas in their home, can’t you?!
We were able to create so many gorgeous portraits for their family and I know that they loved all of their portraits. They received a full set of fully edited portraits but also asked me to create a custom accordion album for them which is my absolute favourite product I offer clients! I even ordered a copy of it for my own studio samples it was just too adorable!
Thank you again to his parents for bringing Kahizie to see me from such a distance away. It was my absolute pleasure to meet you all and create these incredible portraits for you!
Enjoy a peek of my favourites from our time together and I seriously cannot wait to see Kahizie again for his 6 month portraits!
