Photographing extended family portraits in both Kingston and Perth Ontario happens quite often in the summer months when families get together to celebrate the beautiful weather, new family connections or anniversary’s and birthdays. It was an honour to have Kathy ask me to not only photograph her side of the family but also her husbands on a different day (you’ll see that one soon). We met at Kathy and Gord’s farm and chased the setting sun around rail fences and barns and beautiful green yards. We were surrounded by dogs (they love them and I’ve photographed a pet session for them a few years ago) and we had a lot of laughs making grandpa laugh. The result was family love and commitment captured and a new chapter in their history was written with beautiful portraits to remember their time together.
Here’s a few of my favourites from their session.
Thank you again for welcoming me into your home and I hope you enjoy your portraits for years to come!
If you’re looking for a unique way of remembering your family just as they are, I would love to speak with you about an extended family portrait session. They can take place on family farms or cottages, local parks or beaches or in the heart of the city. We capture various poses and try to throw in a little fun depending on the family dynamic.
It’s always recommended to choose both a digital package as well as an album to remember this time together so you can look back on your portraits whenever you are together again. We have a wide variety of album cover options from supple leathers, organic linens, crystal glass and hard cover. Albums are lay-flat and use archival inks and papers to preserve your family’s rich history.
To find out more about family portrait sessions you can check out the family portion of the investment page or contact us directly through the contact page and start the planning process.
We are looking forward to speaking with you!
