When it comes to picking your new baby girl’s name, what helps you make that choice? I love that S & A chose Louise as their perfect baby name because it’s both traditional and unique. She will be one of a kind and she already is!
Louise was a joy to photograph at her newborn photography session at our Kingston Portrait Studio. She’s got the cutest button nose and has the gentlest spirit. I really enjoyed meeting her and seeing her parents again { you can see their beautiful sunset maternity photos that we took at Lake Ontario Park in Kingston Ontario here}. I loved that we incorporated an acorn and tree theme to their session because it not only speaks to the calm nature of these parents but also fit into their baby girl’s nursery theme. They had been collecting acorns for a long time to put in Louise’s baby nursery and had an entire apple basket full of them to bring to the session! It was marvelous! So we had a wee bit of fun with placing Louise in the big basket. She sure looked like a little acorn perched right in there! When thinking about their nursery decor, I decided to incorporate a lot of wood elements and even picked up a large acorn to add to the overall theme. She was so sleepy so we were able to make my ideas come to fruition and have some fun adding in different wraps and headbands.
We used a lot of natural elements when planing out Louise’s newborn baby photos and also used a lot of natural and gender neutral colours in our blankets, our wraps, headbands and texture. I love to incorporate different colours and textures in a single image because I believe it adds more dimension and interest to a portrait. And newborn portrait photography should be not only interesting but a piece of art. I know that S & A are going to treasure the portraits from our session together and I hope that you will enjoy viewing my personal favourites from our time together at the Kingston Portrait Studio. As a child photographer I love meeting newborns and enjoy watching them grow in the studio through their milestone portraits and family photography sessions in their younger years. I’m truly blessed to be photographing these special little miracles.

Look how wide-eyed Louise is! She wanted to be awake for a portion of her newborn photography session at our Kingston Ontario portrait studio and I couldn’t be more thrilled to see her! She is such a beautiful little girl and make her mommy and daddy so happy. She will certainly bring a lot of laughter, love and joy to her parents.
