Bria was like a little doll when I met her and her family. She was 54 days old which was the oldest newborn I had ever photographed but that did’t stop us from creating some gorgeous portraits of her both asleep and awake with her big family! The best thing about Bria was that she was able to hold her head up so well that we were able to capture some really unique pictures that other newborns don’t have, those ones were my favourite to take! It was amazing to see how long she kept her head up looking around – she was just so alert!
I hear often from clients that are worried that their babies are too old to photograph the newborn stage, but I truly believe that you are in the newborn stage until you are 3 months old. So if you are not able to get in to see me right away within the first 3 weeks, don’t fret, send an email or call and we’ll get you in as soon as possible. We don’t ever want clients to feel like they missed out and live with the regret of not getting newborn images – I’m always up for a challenge and you won’t regret getting your newborn into our studio for some cherished keepsake portraits.
I was also sad to hear that Mom had previously had someone who doesn’t specialize in newborn portraits come into her home to take family portraits and felt like she only liked 4 out of the 160 proofs she was shown. It was clear to her that her previous photographer didn’t pay attention to details when photographing newborns and felt rushed in an hour time frame. I was happy to show her that expert newborn photographers take their time and have extraordinary patience and persistence to get those great shots.
Here are a few of Bria’s Mom’s favourites from our time together! Enjoy!
I just love Bria’s wide awake portraits – she was just so happy to be here at the studio!
