I love when clients challenge me to step out of the box and my comfort zone. Marie-Anne’s session was in the works for a while and they gave me the challenge of creating an all white/cream newborn session. As many of my fans know I tend to be drawn to bright colours but I absolutely love the simplicity of very neutral colour schemes as well…. it must be because I’m a Gemini ;P
I had previously coveted this wonderful prop from a vendor in the USA but with shipping and customs, it just wasn’t practical for me to buy so I set out to find out how to make it for myself using a cream and white colour scheme so that it could be a versatile prop for both girls and boys and I made it big enough to use for 6 month olds too which is going to be totally awesome and I can’t wait!
So I found a blog with the instructions on it and headed off to Fabricland (similar to Joanne’s for my American fans) and I found the cord I needed. This prop wasn’t too labour intensive, probably took me about 3 hours all together and I made sure to have enough fabric left over to create the matching banner as well.
The result was fantastic and I am super happy with the resulting images as well! I wanted to share with you all how fabulous sweet Marie-Anne looked in the basket. I made another prop for her session as well but will share with you in another post.
